Plastic Bristle Foam Pigs
Plastic bristle foam pigs are used for cleaning plastic pipes (PVC, fiberglass, HDPE) as well as internally coated steel pipe. The bristles are aggressive enough to clean most buildups, but not harmful to the pipe’s integrity. Models are available in light, medium, and heavy density foam. The pigs are constructed from an open-cell polyurethane foam with a durable polyurethane elastomer coating in a criss-cross pattern and embedded with plastic bristle straps.
Benefits of Using Cleaning Pigs:
- Prevent Blockages: Regular cleaning helps avoid flow restrictions.
- Extend Lifespan: Reducing buildup can prolong the life of the pipeline.
- Improve Efficiency: Clean pipelines enhance flow efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Safety: Regular maintenance reduces the risk of leaks and spills.
Operation:
The pig is inserted into the pipeline at a designated entry point and propelled through the pipeline by the flow of the fluid. Once it reaches the exit, it can be retrieved or allowed to exit with the flow, depending on the type used.
Regular use of pipeline pigs is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of pipeline systems.
